Yet another GOP Congressional courageously calling to flood our job markets with child labor.

Obama’s decision to close up shop in Iraq is already being sorely tested by the recent Coalition of the Evil-Doer’s massive terror attack, and of course is already being second-guessed by our home-grown warmongering reactionaries.  Of course if it were up to them, we would still be fighting in Vietnam.

Given that an overwhelming majority of Americans are pretty tired of hearing about a war that was only supposed to last a couple of weeks is now almost 9 years old, and that most of them probably don’t really care how many Iraqis die, the Coalition of the Evil-Doers will need to bump up the game and threaten the oil supply to keep around the American piñata – or in the words of Frank Herbert: “The Spice must flow!”

Didn’t take too long!  Former Bushie Elliott Abrams is already moving to credit Shrubya with the various ‘People’s Movements’ springing up in Tunisia, Egypt & Yemen.  Well I don’t see him crowing about the one place Shrubya did directly intervene, Iraq.  And we don’t see the angry crowds waving US Flags and yelling Viva Bush (or the Arabic equivalent thereof).

But I guess Abrams is right in one sense.  The protesters undoubtedly have a lot of issues on their plates, including a desire for more democracy.  However, what has them taking to the streets is the joblessness and growing poverty, stemming directly from the current economic crisis, which has direct roots in Shrubya & GOP policies to recklessly deregulate the U.S. Financial industry.  So in a sense, you could call Shrubya the “Godfather” of Arabic Street Protests!

I  wonder if the he or the GOP will still rush to claim credit if any of these People’s Movements take a turn towards Fundamentalist Dictatorship.

GOP Tea Bagger Senator Mike Lee wants to get our children working again!  Just what we need in a time of 10% unemployment – more unskilled workers!  Listen, Mike, I was only snarkin’ about y’all bringing back child labor!

*Update 1-20-11* Mike Lee now wants to abolish FEMA!  Let the states do all the disaster relief!  Hey Mississippi – good luck with them floods & hurricanes, you bein’ the poorest state in the Union and all!
