The Coalition of the Willing has become a little less so. In response, Dr. Rice states the obvious:

“We know that there are others who are going to have to assess how they see the risk. I think there are going to be some changes.”

I think so too, Doctor – you better polish up that resume for a job in a wrong-wing think-tank – at least until you can join the ranks of the lobbyists in ’06. With any luck, you can find a spot in the DoD under the Jenna Bush Administration in eight years.

Two more nations are withdawing their troops, and Poland (of “New Europe” fame) may soon follow. The misAdministration, however, vigorously denies the existence of this new “Coalition of the Unwilling.”

Bush obviously wants to invade Iraq – what’s he waiting for?  In his State of the Union speech tonight, Bush had that special gleam in his eye, previously reserved for gloating about all the folks he’d put to death under the Texas death penalty (as seen in the Gore/Bush debates of 1999) when discussing an invasion of Iraq. You know he wants to Just Do It!®

He undoubtedly has the authority, dating back to the original Gulf War congressional resolution in 1991 (never repealed). If that wasn’t enough, he appealed to Congress and got a reaffirmation of this authority last October. But with each passing day, domestic and international support for the invasion wanes.

So what’s he waiting for? Why doesn’t he strike now while a slim majority of Americans still support this endeavor along with a rag-tag eurotrash country “coalition of the willing?”
