I am on a few reactionary email lists.  Normally I just delete them, but I got this funny one from NewsMax Corp.  If you aren’t familiar with NewsMax, they are the ass-clowns of the reactionary media world, basically doing Glenn Beck in print and online before Glenn Beck figured out the whole crazy/looney conspiracy theory schtick.  Anyway, here is NewsMax’s response to the situation in Wisconsin:

Bill O’Reilly was absolutely right last night.

As he said on his Fox News show the other night, the Democrats know that if they lose in Wisconsin and that if Gov. Scott Walker wins, it means that all across the country the public employee unions will finally have to give up their outrageous pay demands, lavish benefits and fat pensions.

And, as Bill O’Reilly said, this will be bad news for the Democratic party which depends on these unions.

Worse, he said, it is bad news for President Obama and his 2012 election plans, because he desperately needs these liberal unions to win re-election.

This is why team Obama continues to throw everything but the kitchen sink at Governor Scott Walker.

This is why the work of the League of American Voters campaign to support Gov. Scott Walker is critical.

Despite raging protests and even threats of violence by union thugs, Governor Scott Walker is standing firm.

But already there are demands by some that he “cave”.

What a classic case of projection!  Several times this mentions “union thugs” threatening the Governor’s life!!!  Jeez, I don’t know what Universe these pukes inhabit, but in this Universe, it’s the reactionaries that are doing all the killing and the death threats!  Particularly humorous from a “Bizarro Universe” point of view is their attack on MoveOn:

You gotta wonder about the other readers of NewsMax who would consider getting the rich and powerful to pay their fair share to be a bad thing!  Are all of their readers rich and powerful?  Or just stupid and crazy?   Having seen the typical ‘Bagger with his/her tricorn hat festooned with tea-bags and badly spelled signage, I’m guessing it’s the latter.

*Update 4:47P* got another reactionary email – Ponce Riebus is getting into the act!  I won’t bore you with another full email, but here is one of the terrible things we Liberals are doing in Wisconsin:

These Union Bosses have sent thousands of out-of-state union jack booted thugs into Wisconsin and Indiana to try and intimidate lawmakers and thwart the will of the people.

Haha here is the translation – a rag-tag band of union activists with little or no money hoping not to get squashed by the Koch brothers in this key state.  Neither Ponce nor NewsMax make any mention of the Koch Brothers and the oodles of cash they are investing in an intense lobbying effort to bust the unions in Wisconsin!  Talk about projection!  The Reactionaries are taking everything that they are doing and projecting it on us to confuse their addled followers.

After living through the Repug beatification of St. Ronnie, wherein they ascribed such miracles to him as the tearing down of the Iron Curtain and the end of the Soviet Union, I was wondering when the Neo-cons and other remnants of the old regime would start on the rehabilitation of Shrubya.

Didn’t take too long!  Former Bushie Elliott Abrams is already moving to credit Shrubya with the various ‘People’s Movements’ springing up in Tunisia, Egypt & Yemen.  Well I don’t see him crowing about the one place Shrubya did directly intervene, Iraq.  And we don’t see the angry crowds waving US Flags and yelling Viva Bush (or the Arabic equivalent thereof).

But I guess Abrams is right in one sense.  The protesters undoubtedly have a lot of issues on their plates, including a desire for more democracy.  However, what has them taking to the streets is the joblessness and growing poverty, stemming directly from the current economic crisis, which has direct roots in Shrubya & GOP policies to recklessly deregulate the U.S. Financial industry.  So in a sense, you could call Shrubya the “Godfather” of Arabic Street Protests!

I  wonder if the he or the GOP will still rush to claim credit if any of these People’s Movements take a turn towards Fundamentalist Dictatorship.

Bill-O the Clown is calling to execute the guys who leaked the recent diplomatic cables as ‘traitors.’  How about a fair balance, Bill-O?  We’ll execute the cable leakers provided we also execute all the guys who were behind the  exposure of Valerie Plame (and thereby exposing all her undercover contacts and other agents)?  Yep, I’ll looking at you Dick Cheney!

I’ve been reading all the various news posts about the ‘revelations’ found in the recent information on Wiki leaks.  Like China growing distant from North Korea, or that Qaddafi is a nutjob, or that the U.S. was trying to find countries to take Gitmo detainees.  Anybody else experiencing a “No Duh” moment?

In related news, I am starting to miss the days when the Reactionaries attack folks for questioning a sitting President ‘during wartime’ – I guess Caribou Barbie didn’t get the memo.

What do Achmadinejad and the Pope have in common?  They’re both bonkers about Carla Bruni  (Is her music that bad?)! Its one of the few topics the Pope and a conservative Iranian newspaper have in common. An Iranian paper called her a prostitute and the Pope would not meet with her because of her nude photos.

I can understand why the Iranian paper has a hard with Bruni, the paper clearly reflects the Iranian regimes misogynistic views – but the Pope?  Instead of insulting Carla, the Pope should diss her husband (whom he has met) due to his causing such human misery by shipping back gypsies to Romania and Hungary or take the moral high ground and actually address the criminal role the Catholic Church played in covering up priestly child molestation.  Apparently it’s much more meaningful to condemn a naked woman than dealing with real such as finding soltutions to alleviate people’s hardship and misery.

UAE’s highest sharia court says it’s okay to beat your wife and kids – provided you wear a wife-beater shirt while doing it!  Although in their defense (at least against hypocritical US reactionaries), I believe paddling kids is legal everywhere in the U.S., whereas the UAE figures Allah’s only okay with it until puberty, so at least a their kids beating policy seems a smidgen better.

We’ve only got Soros (where is my monthly check btw, George?).  They’ve got the Koch Brothers, Satan’s little helper Rupert Murdoch, and another 184 billionaire-donors.  Not to mention all those corporations…

Wasn’t it just a couple of years ago when the Reactionaries were screaming about how Obama was being controlled by his anti-American pastor Reverend Jeremiah Wright?  How then can their tiny brains accept a contradictory theory, that Obama is a Muslim? This can’t be explained by stupidity alone, I theorize that the Reactionary Brain also suffers an extreme deficit in mid- and long-term memory.

No automatic citizenship for the uneducated

I actually think the Tea Baggers may be on to something with their calls to repeal the 14th Amendment.  Just because somebody is born here doesn’t mean they’d make a valuable addition to the US, right?  Here is what I’d do – when the person turns 18, I’d have them hand-letter a sign.  If the sign is misspelled or ungrammatical, the candidate is denied citizenship and deported to some random 3rd-world country.

By the same token, we should fast-track the citizenship process for immigrants with Masters and Doctorates to replace the vast swath of stupid conservatives we’d be deporting.  It’s a win-win proposition!
