That random shouted question about Tiger Woods at the WH Easter Egg Roll didn’t go over so well…

Prez: Where is Swopa? That whole blog has gone quiet.

Michelle: Sush They’ll just trash you for being Bush II.

    Interesting question to me.

I used to love needlenose & really miss it a lot. But I can’t imagine trying to keep it fresh & new every day while living anything like the life I do. I hope they are healthy & happy and am glad for what they can do.

Thanks, frankdawg (& sorry to all for the recent/occasional hiatus)! You’ve really hit on it — speaking for myself at least, to blog well on a daily basis requires that blogging (including following the news closely enough to find items & comment intelligently) be either (1) your full-time job or (2) your primary hobby.

Green Boy, Fubar, and I all have day jobs (well, allegedly in Fubar’s case :) ), so (1) is out the window, and while Needlenose was (2) for me for quite some time, as favorite subjects like Plame, the Iraq war, and the 2008 election faded from the news, I felt like after several years I wanted to devote more time to other hobbies, for a change of pace if nothing else.

To the best of my knowledge, we are indeed all healthy and happy. :) However, blogging will be sporadic based on when there are sufficient lulls in our respective schedules to catch up on the news (speaking just for myself, it’s that rather than the desire to blog that is the obstacle — once I have the time to check the news on a regular basis, I almost always start finding things I want to comment/snark about).

I’ll add that we especially appreciate those readers who have kept with us at our reduced output level. Thanks, and you never know when things will spark up again!

Thanks! – both for the explanation (glad that you are all doing well) and for all the good work. You’re on my bookmarks & will stay there.
