Back in ’03 I believed that all parties in the recently fractured Iraq would want to keep us around, the newly empowered Shi’ites in the ‘Coalition Government’ for protection, and the coalition of the Evil-Doers (former Baathists and jihadis) to have easy access to Americans to kill.  I posited that it wouldn’t take much for the latter to keep U.S. troops mired in the Quicksand of Iraq through acts of terror or sabotage.

Obama’s decision to close up shop in Iraq is already being sorely tested by the recent Coalition of the Evil-Doer’s massive terror attack, and of course is already being second-guessed by our home-grown warmongering reactionaries.  Of course if it were up to them, we would still be fighting in Vietnam.

Given that an overwhelming majority of Americans are pretty tired of hearing about a war that was only supposed to last a couple of weeks is now almost 9 years old, and that most of them probably don’t really care how many Iraqis die, the Coalition of the Evil-Doers will need to bump up the game and threaten the oil supply to keep around the American piñata – or in the words of Frank Herbert: “The Spice must flow!”

Just when you thought the Reactionaries hadn’t seen a tax cut they didn’t like, turns out they only like tax cuts that benefit the wealthy!  Although they were willing to shut down government and destroy the U.S. credit rating to keep the 1%’s taxes low, when it comes to Obama’s proposed cut to the payroll tax, something that would benefit workers…well, the Reactionaries aren’t so keen on that.  Turns out they have ‘conditions.’

Fucking hypocrites.

When they are not killing their family and friends, Reactionary gun nuts take pot shots at the President and his family….

Seems like only yesterday Shrubya was silently gloating over his secret plan to deceive American into invading Iraq.  But that was almost 10 long years ago and the costs of the Republican’s elective war have been extreme:

“More than 4,400 American military lives have been lost since the start of the war in March of 2003, and more than 100,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed, according to Iraq Body Count, which cross-checks news reports with hospital and other official data. As of March, the war had cost the U.S.$806 billion.”

Looks like Obama is finally going to get us out of it.  Send this to every Reactionary you know and remind them of how much they supported this war back in ’03 and ask them who really failed America.

Obama and Boehner crowing that they’ve reached a deal that includes ‘no revenues’ and 2 trillion in cuts.  Suspecting that my theory that Obama is a Republican “Manchurian Candidate” is correct.  Or the worst negotiator in history.

…the Iraqis apparently haven’t forgotten us.  Rocket attack kills 5 American soldiers on their compound.  American reactionaries are too busy gluing teabags to their hats and trading racist photoshops of Obama to put new ‘support our troops’ ribbons on their bumpers.

Please can we leave now?

Finally, a U.S. President talking some sense about the situation between Israel & the Palestinians.  Of course I think the two-state approach is not a viable solution, and of course he provides neither carrot nor stick to get either side to embrace his vision (e.g. cutting off the very liberal aid we dole out to both parties), but at least he spent a little of his “I Killed Osama” politcal capital on the issue!

The Administration would like to keep our forces sitting around in Iraq past the current deadline in case something flares up – think of it as Obama’s insurance to avoid getting egg on his face if things suddenly spiral out of control again amongst the competing factions there.  Mookie doesn’t think that’s such a good idea.  Swopa’s old pal Sistani hasn’t weighed in on the matter yet.

Guess Mike Huckleberry decided to channel Tricky Dick and go with the Southern Strategy for his 2012 Presidential Bid…he’s falsely claiming that Obama ‘grew up in Kenya,’ giving him a different ‘world outlook’ then the rest of us ‘Mericuns.  What is he referring to, the lack of Nascar in Africa, or is he merely transforming into Birther Baggins to appeal the uber-wingnuts?

Shame the most respectable guy out of the pack of reactionary 2012 contenders just called dibs on the sewer under the low road!  Jeez, Mike, it’s not like you have a snowball’s chance in the Sahara of winning this, you blew a chance at being the conscience of the GOoPers.  Now you’re just another sorry racist loser.

I am on a few reactionary email lists.  Normally I just delete them, but I got this funny one from NewsMax Corp.  If you aren’t familiar with NewsMax, they are the ass-clowns of the reactionary media world, basically doing Glenn Beck in print and online before Glenn Beck figured out the whole crazy/looney conspiracy theory schtick.  Anyway, here is NewsMax’s response to the situation in Wisconsin:

What a classic case of projection!  Several times this mentions “union thugs” threatening the Governor’s life!!!  Jeez, I don’t know what Universe these pukes inhabit, but in this Universe, it’s the reactionaries that are doing all the killing and the death threats!  Particularly humorous from a “Bizarro Universe” point of view is their attack on MoveOn:

You gotta wonder about the other readers of NewsMax who would consider getting the rich and powerful to pay their fair share to be a bad thing!  Are all of their readers rich and powerful?  Or just stupid and crazy?   Having seen the typical ‘Bagger with his/her tricorn hat festooned with tea-bags and badly spelled signage, I’m guessing it’s the latter.

*Update 4:47P* got another reactionary email – Ponce Riebus is getting into the act!  I won’t bore you with another full email, but here is one of the terrible things we Liberals are doing in Wisconsin:

These Union Bosses have sent thousands of out-of-state union jack booted thugs into Wisconsin and Indiana to try and intimidate lawmakers and thwart the will of the people.

Haha here is the translation – a rag-tag band of union activists with little or no money hoping not to get squashed by the Koch brothers in this key state.  Neither Ponce nor NewsMax make any mention of the Koch Brothers and the oodles of cash they are investing in an intense lobbying effort to bust the unions in Wisconsin!  Talk about projection!  The Reactionaries are taking everything that they are doing and projecting it on us to confuse their addled followers.
