   And, yes, I can understand if you’ve taken up drinking to get through the day. I’m popping cough drops because I’m always fulminating at the latest political screwup.

   I’d drink more if I would cry less. . . . Nope, can’t get the bottle to my lips between sobs.

   I’m gonna miss this country, it was great once.

   I’m happy to report that, unlike my alter ego above, I don’t think I’ve worn a tie of any kind in nearly three years (and it’s been a lot longer since I wore a white button-down shirt).

   Would that our political situation was equally low-stress.
