A Repug Senator wins in Massachusetts? Seriously? Shows you how fucked up the Dem leadership really is. The idiots dicked around so long with trying to appease the Repugs, the Repugs in drag ‘Blue Dogs’ and the lobbyists and now they’ve screwed the pooch. Barney Frank pretty much said ‘back to the drawing board on health care.’ This is fucked up. Forget Lincoln, Kennedy, Clinton…Obama is Jimmy Carter.

Ooh, I think you’re being a little harsh on Jimmy Carter.
The problem is that the Republicans are comfortable governing (though entirely unsuited to the task), whilst the Democrats are terrified by the prospect of governing. Reid is a symptom of this; he should have been gone long ago. He refuses to use any of the Senate rules to his own party’s advantage whilst quietly acquiescing to every GOP demand. But Obama is also a failure–he simply refuses to apply pressure when necessary and the result is drift. Now the Dems are moaning that they can’t pass any major legislation! Of course they could, if they wanted to. Reconciliation…or changing the filibuster rule…would allow them to accomplish everything they ‘want’, though I’m beginning to doubt they ‘want’ to pass ANYTHING. And now they’ve declared themselves a lame duck Congress, why would anyone bother voting for them again?
At least when you vote GOP, you can be sure they will pass their legislation–even when working with much slimmer majorities than the Dems currently enjoy.
Frankly, both parties need to be put out to pasture.

Obama as Carter? Hardly appropriate. Carter tried to help people everywhere. Obama is trying to kill people everywhere. But otherwise, you are spot on!
and imagine having a senate majority leader from the mafia? Nevada elects people that do what the casino’s say, period.
At least we won’t have the mormon dufus as majority leader in the future. He hasn’t a chance of winning again.
